Once students enter third grade, they earn percentage/letter grades (A, B, C, D & F) rather than E, S, U. The grading scale is as follows:
A......... 93 - 100
B.......... 86 - 92
C.......... 78 - 85
D......... 70 - 77
F............ 0 - 69
Because letter grades are a direct reflection of the work accomplished, it is vital that all assignments get completed promptly. Extra credit is not given to improve letter grades. Students often enjoy completing extra credit for additional 'pocket money' that can be used in our classroom store. It gives students additional practice on skills as well as a sense of accomplishment when they are rewarded for their efforts. Extra credit pages will be clearly marked so that there are no questions as to whether it is an assigned task or extra practice. Many students choose this route and have made lots of extra cash by going the extra mile!
